Follow Post-Op Instructions
Dr. Anderson will provide you with thorough instructions to follow after your dental implant surgery. These include drinking plenty of fluids, chewing in areas of your mouth that don’t have implants, and avoiding strenuous physical activities while you heal. When cared for properly, your implants can last for the rest of your life, and your restoration can last for years to come.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene
You can care for your restoration like you care for your natural teeth. Brush twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and floss once a day. If you have an implant-supported denture or bridge, use a floss threader to clean under it and around your implants. Your oral hygiene routine can stave off tooth decay and gum disease, protecting your oral health over the long term.
Attend Regular Checkups
Attend routine cleanings and exams with your general dentist every six months. Your hygienist will be able to clean areas of your teeth that you miss during your at-home routine.
